In order to prepare the Plan, the Steering Group created five sub-groups, or task groups to investigate different issues that the Plan needs to cover. These covered the following areas
Community engagement (Lucy Brittain and Jo Schofield)
- Communication with all relevant parties
- Preparation and maintenance of website, notices and other media
- Running Village consultation events, liaison with South Oxfordshire District Council and Planning Consultants, Terence O’Rourke (John Curtis)
- Maintaining a consultation record
Transport and highways (Hugh Garforth Bles)
- Traffic surveys and forecasts
- Research into public transport and accessibility
- Research into footpaths / rights of way
Housing (Paul McNamara)
- Housing needs and policy questionnaire
- Analysis of 2011 census data
- Liaison with SODC regarding housing needs in Pyrton
- Research/analysis to understand demand for housing in Pyrton and information about local house and rental prices in Pyrton in recent years and expectations in future years
- Identifying any specific local issues or additional points that parishioners would like the policies of the Neighbourhood Plan to cover or address
Economy and Environment (Michael Crawford)
- Research into where residents work/what is needed to support the economically active
- Employment opportunities in Pyrton
- Analysis of flood risk and drainage, sewerage and water supply issues
- Research / analysis of landscape character and form
History and Development of the parish (Philip Pinney)
- Analysis of historical maps and the development/history of the parish and its built heritage and natural assets
